Why we started this
Nargis (Zaytoona Nur)
Behind the name Zaytoona Nur is Nargis. She is one of those individuals who has many contributions but never shows off the efforts. It is not just a career story. It is all about developing introspection and discovering other avenues of expressing herself.
She has been working in communications for more than two decades, establishing a good reputation in her profession. And yet, she has been establishing her own creative area as a writer. That is what I really like about her
Her books say a lot about who she is. Some of them are soft and spiritual, like her Islamic poetry. Others are sharp and practical, like her guides on business and even technology. It’s a mix you don’t often see, and it shows the way she thinks—always exploring, always learning, always giving something back.
In short, Nargis isn’t just writing books. She’s sharing her journey.

A Distinguished Career in Communication
Nargis has been in the civil service since 2001. Over the years, she’s worked across three big government departments, always right in the middle of things that matter. She’s trained with the Chartered Institute for Public Relations, so she knows her stuff when it comes to shaping clear, effective messages. But what stands out isn’t just the technical skill. It’s how she explains complicated policies in a way that actually makes sense to people.
She is the type of person that could actually talk to anyone, be it an official, a colleague, or just an ordinary person, and could make them feel heard. That’s rare. She is not the leader who wields authority, but she is the leader with cool. She remains on her feet even during the messy times; she listens, and somehow, she gets everyone moving in the same direction.
Mentor, Coach, and Community Advocate
Ever since 2015, Nargis has been mentoring and coaching, and it could be young people only beginning their path, it could be professionals seeking their next step, and it could be her peers. She does a good job of making people look at things a little more plainly and trust themselves a little more. To her, leadership does not mean that she is on the ladder to be higher. It is about seeing to it that others get up with her.
And she doesn’t stop there. In 2020, she took on another role as vice chair of governors at a local primary school. It’s her way of giving back, of shaping the kind of education she wants future kids to have. Whether it’s at work, in her mentoring, or in the community, Nargis keeps coming back to the same idea: service matters. Not in some grand way—just in the everyday choices to help others grow.
Entrepreneurial Spirit and Advocacy for AI
Nargis has always been curious, and the way she’s always thinking ahead pushed her to start her own e-commerce business. For her, it wasn’t just about setting up a shop online. It was more like an experiment in creativity, problem-solving, and figuring out how to stand strong in a fast-changing world.
That’s also the thread running through her writing. She takes these big, complicated ideas and explains them so they don’t feel intimidating. It’s her way of opening the door for new business owners and professionals who want to try out these tools without needing a computer science degree.
The Pen Name: Zaytoona Nur
Nargis writes under the name Zaytoona Nur. It’s not just a pretty name—there’s meaning behind it. Zaytoona means “olive” in Arabic, a tree that stands for peace, wisdom, and resilience. Nur means “light.” Put together, it’s about shining a little light in dark times, finding wisdom when life feels heavy, and holding on to peace in a noisy world.
A Writer of Many Dimensions
What makes Zaytoona Nur stand out is how wide her writing reaches. She doesn’t stick to just one box or one subject. If something speaks to her, she writes about it. That could be poetry about faith, reflections on spirituality, a practical business guide, or even words meant to motivate when life feels heavy. No matter the form, the aim is the same—helping people live with meaning, courage, and a sense of connection.
